The August Injury Rehab Network event with BASRaT, is taking place on Thursday 7th August with a presentation from Dr Josh Berkowitz, Associate Professor of Orthopaedics, Internal Medicine and Pediatrics, University of North Carolina. Dr. Josh Berkowitz is an Associate Professor of Orthopaedics, Internal Medicine and Pediatrics and Chief of the Division of Nonoperative Sports and Musculoskeletal Medicine at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine. He serves as a Team Physician for the Tar Heels, with primary responsibilities for Football, Women’s Basketball, Men’s Lacrosse and Men’s and Women’s Swimming and Diving while providing point-of-care ultrasound diagnostics and procedural intervention to student-athletes from all 28 athletics programs.

In addition to covering dozens of NCAA competitions annually, Dr. Berkowitz serves as Team Physician for Chapel Hill High School, two local professional ultimate teams, and as an Event Physician for the National Basketball Association, providing event coverage locally, nationally and internationally including NCAA Championships, NBA All-Star, NBA Global Games and Basketball without Borders. In addition to anticoagulation in athletes, Dr. Berkowitz’s professional interests include patient care, event coverage, and advancing minimally invasive management of musculoskeletal conditions.
