The October Injury Rehab Network event with BASRaT, is taking place on Monday 13th October with a presentation from Mr Steven Corbett, Consultant Orthopaedic Shoulder Surgeon, Fortius Clinic. Steve’s presentation will consider the latest evidence-based approaches for the management and treatment of shoulder injuries in sport. Taking place online on Monday 13th October 2025 from 7pm – 8pm. Steve Corbett qualified from St Thomas’ Hospital, London in 1990. He undertook surgical training, both in the UK and France, working amongst others with Roger Emery and Laurent Lafosse. He was awarded a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) for his work on fracture healing in 2000.

In 2003, he was appointed as Consultant Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgeon at Guys and St Thomas’ Hospitals, London, specialising in Upper Limb Surgery. Subsequently, he also became one of the founder members of Fortius Clinic, London.

Steve is a named reviewer for a number of medical journals and is also the editor/ contributor of several leading textbooks. His research interests include clavicle fractures, acromioclavicular joint injuries, shoulder dislocation, and rotator cuff tears. He was a member of the BESS Research Committee and has been involved in the development of several National guidelines. He has held a number of managerial roles in the NHS and private medicine, principally in relation to Clinical Governance and his commitment to ensuring a quality agenda.

In the past, he was a very keen sportsman and now enjoys trying to help both amateur and professional athletes to successfully return to their chosen activities.

Steve’s presentation will consider the latest evidence-based approaches for the management and treatment of shoulder injuries in sport.
