The reusable hot and cold pack is a great therapeutic tool to have in your kit bag. It’s the perfect 2- in-1 therapy product. When frozen, it’s an effective treatment to ease pain and reduce swelling around injuries. Whereas, when heated, it increases the blood flow and movement towards injured tissue.
Sportsmen and women constantly use ice/cryotherapy after training or competing to treat injuries, reduce swelling and numb pain. The sooner ice is applied to a muscle strain or sprain, the quicker the pain and swelling is reduced – speeding up the recovery process.
Heat should not be applied directly after injury, you have to wait for the swelling to die down before treating with heat therapy. Heat packs can be used to ease the pain of acute and chronic injuries, such as strains, sprains and muscle spasms. Nothing will help a bad back more than the application of heat.
When a player picks up a knock in a game, they can leave the field and apply a cold pack directly to the injury, which will hopefully get them back in the team quicker. Other uses for the pack include; treating toothaches, headaches, reducing fever, muscle aches, back pain, sinusitis, menstrual cramps, pulled muscles, torn muscles and arthritis.
